Day 1: Tour in Caen and fun activities
Day 1: Tour in Caen and fun activities
Caen is the city of Guillaume Le Conquérant, who invaded and conquered England. By walking through this Middle-Age city, you will be discovering its Norman style architectures, such as its two abbeys, its castle and its historical center.
For lunch, you will be tasting local food in a vintage and cosy place.
In the afternoon, you will have two choices. You will be able to visit Bayeux and its famous Ancient Tapestry Museum in which you will learn about an ancestral art.
Or, if you seek adrenaline, you will be able to go kayaking in a river, in the middle of green lands and lakes. In fact, this part of Normandy looks like Switzerland. After kayaking, you will go hiking nearby la Roche d’Oëtre. From there, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the green lands. If you book this option, there is an extra cost of 15€.
At the end of the day, you will eat crêpes in Cambremer. You might find your favorite crêpe. In fact, more than 40 different kinds of crêpes are suggested. Our favorite one is “La Rouennaise” (made of leeks in cream, ham and local cheese).
Optional : : Kayaking in the center of Normandy
You will go kayaking down the Orne river. For 2 hours, you will go through 7km of natural landscapes and fresh air.
Day 2: Deauville and Honfleur, glamorous and authentic places
Day 2: Deauville and Honfleur, glamorous and authentic places
In Deauville, you will be walking along the Atlantic Ocean. In the morning, riders often start the day there with their horse. In fact, Normandy is really famous around the world for its horse training-centers. They are said to be the best of the world. Make sure you can meet some of them training along the ocean.
After lunch, you will go to Honfleur. This lovely town is the capital of Impressionism. Famous painters used to spend hours drawing the old harbour and typical ancient houses of the town. Nowadays, artists still gather and live there. Make sure you visit some art galleries and enter the Sainte-Catherine Cathedral. It might impress you.
Then, you will have dinner in a colorful place. Local fishes and seafood are very tasty there.
Optional : : Ethnography Museum
This is a great museum to go back in time and to discover how Norman life used to look like before. You will also learn about professions which nowadays tend to disappear (haberdasher, weaver, bourgeois designer…).
Day 3: Etretat cliffs and modern architecture in Le Havre
Day 3: Etretat cliffs and modern architecture in Le Havre

In Etretat, you will enjoy go on trekking between cliffs and sea. You will arrive at the Antifer lighthouse and discover the little charming harbor of Ypor. If you want, you will be able to take a gourmet picnic with you.

Le Havre architecture is a must to see. The whole city is listed as UNESCO Heritage. The city is really different from typical cities in France. In fact, Le Havre was destroyed during WWII and then rebuilt by Auguste Perret, a genius French architect. Through its buildings and streets, you will discover modern and stunning constructions.
You will enjoy a self-serve buffet in an Indian restaurant for dinner. If you want to extend your evening, there are the best bars of the town right next to the restaurant.
