Local experience at the Mont-Saint-Michel

Mont-Saint-Michel is one of those places in the world you keep on visiting and where wonder remains the same. Its unique architecture has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. As you walk along its narrow streets, you experience something unique.

The Mont-Saint-Michel is known as one of the marvels of the Western World, which is to say that thousands of explorers go and visit it every day. Early in the morning, you will experience the beauty of this unique place, as it is still quiet. You will walk around its fortifications, visit its Abbey and enjoy its indoor architecture.

You will meet local farmers, craftsmen or artists who live nearby the Mont-Saint-Michel. They will share their time with you in order to make you discover their passion.

You will have the choice to visit a local farm or a traditional factory and learn more about their activities. Be ready to taste some local candies or local drinks.

At the end of the day, you will appreciate a traditional dinner in a warm restaurant. You will spend your night in a lovely guesthouse.

After a generous breakfast, you will discover Fougères and the biggest medieval castle of Europe.  You will be enjoying a nice walk inside this charming little town and inside its castle.

Rebuild at the 15th century, the castle is still in good shape and its architecture will make you go back in time, in the early Middle Ages.

You will meet a local artisan, really different from others. Passionate by valuable and old objects, he will make you discover the secrets of French watchmaking.

At the end of the afternoon, you will follow a walking trail and visit the most beautiful edifices of Fougères. At the top of the town, you will appreciate a 360° view of the surroundings and the castle.

For dinner, you will savor a traditional meal from Brittany and sleep in a lovely and comfortable guesthouse.

After your breakfast, you will go and visit Vitré, a picturesque town. As well as Fougères, Vitré is also located at the border of the French kingdom, in Brittany. During the Middle Ages, Brittany built dozens of defensive castles in this area in order to protect its independent territory from France.

You will enjoy a visit of its medieval castle and explore areas which are usually closed to public.

For lunch, you will taste delicious galettes and crêpes.

During the afternoon, you will have free time to visit art galleries, do some local shopping or have a nice walk inside the ancient town. Vitré is also such a nice place to take some fresh air by bike. We selected for you the best trails. This activity is optional.
